Aquentium Announces Canby Group as Subsidiary for Medical Marijuana Industry

Lake Elsinore, CA - (WORLD STOCK WIRE) - July 27, 2015 -- Aquentium, Inc. (OTC: AQNM) announced today that Canby Group, Inc. has been designated as the Company’s subsidiary for the medical marijuana industry. Canby Group will focus on providing products and services that relate specifically to the medical marijuana industry.

‘Legal cannabis is the fastest growing industry in the United States,’ stated Aquentium CEO Mark Taggatz.

Governments, entrepreneurs, and people everywhere are beginning to acknowledge that the potential of the cannabis industry is too great to ignore. Its outdated, unsubstantiated stigma is quickly being replaced by legitimate research, supportive laws, and market demand that has surpassed expectations.

Aquentium is already positioned as a manufacturer of its own line of air and water purification equipment for this promising industry. If you’re still uncertain about the future of the legal cannabis industry, check out some of the facts and statistics below.

$3B - The current value of the legal marijuana market, which grew 74% in 2014. In 2015 the legal marijuana market is projected to grow by another 32%

$37B - The projected value of US retail sales resulting from full legalization. This represents a 1,262% increase over 2014 wholesale and retail sales.

23 - States that have already legalized medical marijuana. 11 more have pending legislation in 2015.

76% - of clinicians polled worldwide by the New England Journal of Medicine believe that the medicinal benefits outweigh the risks and potential harms. Within the next 5 years, the legal cannabis industry is expected to out earn the US film industry, the organic foods industry, and more than triple the revenues of the NFL.

17M -17 million people already live in states where recreational marijuana is legal. Based on legalization projections, this number is expected to increase to 86 million – over 25% of the US population – by 2017.

52% - For the first time in history, the majority of americans support marijuana legalization. According to Pugh Research, 52% of Americans support legalization, an increase of 11% since 2010.

$620 M - The US imports $620M in hemp products each year. With the passing of the 2014 Farm Bill, Americans can grow limited quantities of hemp for the first time in 77 years.

CBD, THC and Cannabinoids:

While THC is the well-publicized “high” inducing compound in cannabis, there are several dozen other unique compounds, called cannabinoids, with promising effects. Cannabidiol, or CBD, does not cause the “high” of THC, and studies show it may have many medical benefits.

Naturally occurring hemp is relatively high in CBD, with low THC levels. More research is needed to better understand the potential of the other 60+ cannabinoids. Evidence also shows that these compounds are synergistic, working together to have greater effects.

CBD (cannabidiol) is classified by the National Institutes of Health as an antioxidant and neuroprotectant. US patent number 6,630,507, entitled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants” specifically describes the therapeutic properties of cannabidiol, listing over a dozen serious medical conditions that could be treated with the therapeutic use of CBD.

'‘Our nation’s first president, George Washington, grew hemp as part of his commercial crops. Hemp, alongside tobacco, was grown on many plantations in colonial times for use in rope, canvas, clothing and paper. To be clear, hemp, although a type of marijuana plant, has a much lower content of THC, the compound that causes intoxication, than other marijuana plants," commented Taggatz.

Marijuana was listed in the United States Pharmacopeia from 1850 to 1942. It was prescribed for various ailments including labor pains, nausea and rheumatism. And it was an ingredient in about 600 medicines before the U.S. banned it seventy-eight years ago (in 1937). The legal marijuana industry has grown exponentially since California became the first State to legalized medical marijuana in 1996. Since then, 25 U.S. territories have legalized cannabis for medical or adult use.

Those 25 U.S. territories are as follows:

Alaska Arizona
California Colorado
Connecticut District of Columbia
Delaware Hawaii
Illinois Maine
Maryland Massachusetts
Michigan Minnesota
Montana Nevada
New Hampshire New Jersey
New Mexico New York
Oregon Rhode Island
Vermont Washington
Louisiana

In addition to the 25 U.S. territories that have legalized marijuana for medical or adult use, in 2014 and 2015, fifteen other States legalized the use of an oil extract from the cannabis plant, called Cannabidiol oil (“CBD oil”). CBD oil has been found to significantly control seizures in children who suffer from epilepsy.

Those 15 States are as follows:

Utah Alabama
Kentucky Wisconsin
Mississippi Tennessee
Georgia South Carolina
Iowa Florida
North Carolina Missouri
Oklahoma Texas
Virginia

“This is an extraordinary time in America. We are in the midst of a post-Prohibition era all over again,’ added Taggatz.
